A few posts back I showed you guys some tickets to a show to see my most favorite band. I have been trying all week to do this post to just give you a glimpse of who/what Phish is.

I began going to Phish shows my senior year of high school. A mere 14 years ago. I have to admit at first it was more about being with friends and having a good time :)
But after a couple of years I became more interested in the music and less in the good time. I mean I was still having a great time, just a different kind of fun. Anywho, this band is great. This is not the band that people go to see because the front man is hot or because they've had a #1 hit single. It is all about the music.

I also like to give the mister a hard time and tell him this

is why I married him.
He knows I'm kidding. However it is an added bonus being married to him that my name is a Phish song ;)

So 2 nights with my favorite band, YAY!!! I had so much fun I didn't even take any pictures :(

I do have lots of photos of the kids at the Georgia Aquarium. Stay tuned...

so i know i am super slacker most of the time

but all of a sudden my life is super hectic

i need about 10 more hours in the day to just do laundry and wash bottles

so unfortunately blogging and reading my favorite blogs

is very low on my list of things to do these days

i miss it :(

Valentine's Day 2010 was the best ever.

Because our sweet baby girl was baptized.

She was great, slept through the entire sacrament.

Thank you sweet future sister-in-law, neighbors and friends for taking.

And thanks to everyone for EVERYTHING.

I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a loving family that will travel to Louisiana

over and over. You all mean so much to me.

We are all so happy you were there to share this special event with us all.

What a wonderful birthday I had! Probably the best one in years. My mom, brother-in-law and future sister-in-law came all the way from Alabama to celebrate my birthday :)
OK, yes, they really came to see/meet Stella, but I can think they came for my birthday, RIGHT?!?!?

The mister brought me an super chocolately ice cream cake- yummy! He is SO good.
Then yesterday he and Jack let me pick my favorite place to have lunch/dinner- PF Chang's it is! Another yummy! And then the boys gave me the new Super Mario Bros wii game, it is fun! Finally a game I can play also!
And did I mention the Saints won and are now Super Bowl bound?!?!?! What an exciting game!
Perfect ending to my 32nd birthday.
OH! And Ms. Erin Guerdy also made my birthday a little happier by posting a few teasers from our Friday night photo shoot. She is FABULOUS! And I think Jack has a crush on her. Here are a few of my favorites, I can not wait to see the rest!

i can't believe how quickly time flies

and how quick you forget what it's like to live with a newborn

and it also breaks my heart how my memories of jack being this small are so limited

i know it will be the same way with stella :(

we have only done professional portraits once i think

and she is coming to my house so it's very exciting and i don't even have to leave the house

jack was a shepherd in his school's Christmas program... we were SO proud :)

until these crazy ladies started measuring my giant baby every other week

then i'm going back on hiatus until giant baby is born and

i am bored to tears on maternity leave :)

by the way, can i just share how entertaining my boys are...

they recently found the free karoake channel On Demand

every friday night they sing and dance for me

the little one's favorite is the freaks come out at night

remember that song? it's great

and right now as i type this

the little guy asked mister for grape juice

mister gives him pickle juice instead

this cute little guy traveled to AL to go to his new home

we all miss him, but know he has gone to a fabulous family :)

it also snowed in louisiana

just a little, thank goodness!

and we had breakfast with santa, thanks to this lady

there's was lots of fun had by all

then we headed on over to the hospital where i plan to give birth to the new baby

{note the word plan, i pray every night that i make it to the hospital}

for a sibling preparation class, where he learned how to feed, change and burp a baby :)

fabulous class, totally recommend it

we also hit the build a bear workshop at the mall where jack made this cool guy

wow, so that was a busy weekend,

WAIT!

i didn't even mention my mom and mother-in-law came down

and brought a surprise...

my friend rachel :)

they all came to a baby shower a few church friends had for me

{unfortunately i didn't take pictures, i was a little busy}

and mister was in atlanta watching his most favorite team EVA

become the SEC champs...

he will live here with us forever

and really, i am about to have a monstrous baby...

i can not take care of a puppy right now :(

we actually stayed home for the first time in years...

she's already 5 lbs 9 oz and i have 2 months to go!!!

Thursday evening I sent my Ipod to Apple for a battery replacement.

I feel like I've lost my best friend :(

1- Quilts... need I say more? Love them. Every bed in my house has one :) and the baby's quilt is on the way

2- Quiet... I am not, I talk too much. The mister, however, is very. Unfortunately, JR takes after me in that aspect.

3- Quirky... aren't we all?

4- Queen... wish I was one :)

5- Quick... I can be

6- Questions... my five year old asks 500 gazillion/day

7- Quercus... genus name for the Oak family {yep , I'm a forester}

8- Quack... that's what a duck says

9- Q-tip... use them as soon as I get out of the shower {he's a pretty cool rapper from back in the day too}

10- Quality... I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for"

11- Que Pasa?... Spanish for What's up? I took 2 years of Spanish in high school, wish I would have taken more

12- Quarterbacks... I am SICK of them being in my living room ALL weekend. I love football, but really, does one need to watch every single game you can possibly fit in the weekend? Done.

13- Quinn the Eskimo... a cool Phish song, little did I know it's not their song, they actually covered it, originally written by Bob Dylan and covered by lots of folks {learn something new everyday :)}

1- Pine Trees – Loblolly Pine to be exact, aka Pinus taeda for all you foresters and scientists out there {although my favorite pine tree is Longleaf Pine, gorgeous tree}. This is what I do, grow them, baby them, then cut them down to make your paper, houses, diapers, ice cream, etc…

2- Phish – my most favorite band in the entire universe period

3- Pink – my son’s blue room is about to become this color for his brand spanking new baby sister

4- Photos – I love taking them and would love to take some photography classes (I think I missed my calling)

5- Pregnant – yep, that’s me at the moment :)

6- Planning – I need to do better with this

7- Prayer – I need to pray more

8- Patchouli – I love this scent

9- Pressure – what my belly is feeling these days- pushing, kicking, punching, etc… you get the idea

10- Priester’s Pecans – one of the few things I love and miss about living in Bama {mainly I just miss my mom- love you mom!!!}

saturday was jack's last soccer game...

i am sad- i really enjoyed soccer

so much that i am trying to talk him out of playing t-ball this spring

and playing spring soccer...

i know

bad mom, let him choose

so i stopped begging and told him OK ;)

i think this is my favorite, this is my sweetest son, setting the ball up and letting

his team mate take the ball and kick it in the goal... he is too sweet

and already working the girls... his dad must be teaching him things i don't know about ;)

so this was a sad little time for me saturday
sure i had a great time taking a ton of pics
but then it was over
luckily bama beat lsu and the mister was happy {i would prefer them both lose}
although the game was so close and exciting
i thought he may have a heart attack while watching it
lucky for him he's married to a forester who gets CPR training on a regular basis

as you all know, our favorite son is now 5 yrs old...

and of course, i got him his first science kit {which he ♥ed}

and he got the basketball goal he's been asking for...

ALL the neighborhood kids are enjoying this gift

he will start playing team upward basketball in january at a local church...

I am up at 1:53 am... what, you may ask, would one be doing at that hour. Obviously I am blogging, my new obsession and favorite thing to do.
But let me tell you why. For those of you who know me well, you know I love music. No, I can not sing well or play an instrument, but I don't care, I LOVE MUSIC. I do not leave the house without my ipod, if I happen to forget it, I return home when I realize I have forgotten it so that my day is not ruined. OK, I digress. If you know me well, you also know that I ♥ Phish. My favorite band since high school.
Say what you will, yes I have changed a LOT since high school, but I still love most of the same music, at least the same "kind" of music (if there is such a thing).
ANYWHO, my favorite band of all time that I love, have seen countless times live, and would dream about seeing them live, broke up and went their separate ways several years ago. Wow, I was sad and heartbroken, like they had actually broken up with me or something.
Phish decided to get back together this year and I got tickets to one show in Knoxville, TN. It was great, fabulous, wonderful; I was a happy girl.
Then the boys announced they would have a festival Halloween weekend and finally announced it would be in California. SAD. I automatically knew I would not be able to go for numerous reasons, like my favorite son's birthday, being 7 months pregnant, watching my favorite son trick or treat, work, etc... ahhhh, the responsibilities of being a grown-up.
This leads me to tell you why I am still up at 2 am. Our lovely sirius station Jam On is playing the ENTIRE festival live, as it happens on the west coast in Cali. YAY!!!!! Wait, when am I going to sleep this weekend??? Oh, who cares, this is the next best thing to being there... kinda. Still wish I was there, but at least I get to still do the special things with my boy and not have to use portopotties. Yep, that's how I'm looking at it and I'm pretty excited about it all.
Please ignore any misspellings, typos, etc... I do not care, I am tired, and I thoroughly enjoyed the first night of Festival 8, even if I wasn't there.

This boy had his 5th birthday party this weekend... it is absolutely amazing how quickly time flies when someone so special enters your life and you watch them grow. I thank God everyday for the opportunity he has given me with motherhood. It has changed everything about me, so much for the better!

Thanks to all his friends who showed up for the party... he told me after the cake (even before the presents!) that it was the best party ever!!! How sweet is that?!?!?

And thank you SO much to all the grandparents, the uncle and my friend who traveled out of state to be there... you all made the event super special and we are all so happy you came!!!!

More to come on the birthday party and his actual birthday this week...

The MAIN reason I ♥ October is because of my favorite son.

we recently went to the beach with friends to celebrate catalina's 5th birthday
{and i know a boy who will turn 5 before this month is over (stay tuned for that)}

and did i mention october has got to be the BEST time to go to the beach...

I ♥ Auburn University. I graduated in 2000. Yep, almost 10 years ago...

it was a great experience...

I began dating my fabulous husband while there, he actually proposed on the steps of the Forestry Building (it was wonderfully sweet)

I met one of my best friends EVER there (i ♥ you claire)

I learned to appreciate football there... more like how to party and have a good time b/c of football

I am now turning my son into an Auburn fan and hopefully brainwashing him to attend the university, I think it is working, he was singing the fight song by age 3 and is still cheering for Auburn with me

Now I live in the heart of a different tiger country, it's just not the same... but we still get to attend a few Auburn games in this so called tiger country...

like this basketball game 2 years ago, we were one of 12 auburn fans in the stands and we won-

Last year we took Jack to his 1st Auburn football game ever, it was great!

And the lovely Alumni Association sent me this, which totally made me send them my money and sign Clay and I up.

Was a muddy and humid mess... but oh how fun it was! And super exciting! I am hoping we will skip tball this spring and jump right back into soccer. I think I was meant to be a soccer mom. Who knew???

His First Soccer Game

Was fun,

busy,

exciting,

and HOT.

#5 of the Patriots (or Eagles, I'm not quite sure which one his coach is going with but we won't get into all that) played his heart out and came SO close to scoring several goals. Looks like I'm going to have to do some research and start working with him in the backyard, which will be good exercise for me, right?

And as we were leaving the park, one of those orange kids passed us on the walkway...
I saw him smiling once he saw JR...
Not a sweet little boy smile...
And as we passed him, he did a thumbs down and BOOED my son.
Luckily, my son saw a friend from school, a cute little girl, and was totally interested in her.
I, on the other hand, saw it all and it took all I had not to correct that child and teach him sportsman-like behavior (this is the edited version of what I wanted to do).
Mister tells me I need to get used to it because that's just how little boys are.
Wow, really? I am not impressed and not sure how I am going to make it through years of sports with JR without saying something I shouldn't to some other persons child!
I'll let you know how next week goes.

Our Little Trip to TN, continued

We left LA late Friday afternoon, stopped in Bama to spend the night and more importantly pick up the mommas! About 13 hours in the car and my super sweet kid is still smiling- what a trooper :)

So is driving all that way worth it, you ask? You tell me. This was our final destination, a gorgeous cabin called Above the Clouds on the side of Cove Mountain. Beautiful inside and out with spectacular views.

And the view of the GSMNP from one of the decks at the cabin- spectacular!

While the cabin is most accurately called Above the Clouds, we were at times surrounded by clouds. Love this place, I will go back. Stay tuned for more pics from hiking and family visits soon...
