Soccer Game #2

Was a muddy and humid mess... but oh how fun it was! And super exciting! I am hoping we will skip tball this spring and jump right back into soccer. I think I was meant to be a soccer mom. Who knew???

I think this was his 2nd or 3rd goal... setting up
getting ready to kick the ball into the goal...
and SCORE!!!!!!!!!! Way to go #5!!!

We ran into Jack's neighbor friend, who plays on a different team.

I ♥ soccer almost as much as Jack.

And I'm thinking this Saturday I may get out of my chair to get pics of the front of my kid playing soccer and maybe I should get the video camera out of the closet. We'll see. I can't wait.

goofy kid

So, it's now 4:21 am. I've been up since 3 am. Woke up starving and missing my mister
(not that he would have woken up and played a game with me or anything)
JR and the brown dogs are sleeping away...
I decided to make a collage of the goofy pics JR wanted me to take
after his first hike in the mountains...
not sure who he gets this goofiness from

Wordless Wednesday

What, you may ask, is this lovely little brown dog looking at???
She can sit and watch forever...

as long as they are there... munching away on our backyard.

His First Soccer Game

Was fun,

and HOT.

#5 of the Patriots (or Eagles, I'm not quite sure which one his coach is going with but we won't get into all that) played his heart out and came SO close to scoring several goals. Looks like I'm going to have to do some research and start working with him in the backyard, which will be good exercise for me, right?

And as we were leaving the park, one of those orange kids passed us on the walkway...
I saw him smiling once he saw JR...
Not a sweet little boy smile...
And as we passed him, he did a thumbs down and BOOED my son.
Luckily, my son saw a friend from school, a cute little girl, and was totally interested in her.
I, on the other hand, saw it all and it took all I had not to correct that child and teach him sportsman-like behavior (this is the edited version of what I wanted to do).
Mister tells me I need to get used to it because that's just how little boys are.
Wow, really? I am not impressed and not sure how I am going to make it through years of sports with JR without saying something I shouldn't to some other persons child!
I'll let you know how next week goes.

Happy Birthday to YOU!!!

Yesterday was my fabulous mommy's birthday- HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!
(JR and I would like to thank you for the beautiful blue eyes)

You are the best mom and grandmother in the UNIVERSE and beyond.
I can't thank you enough for all that you have done for me.

I miss you so much everyday.

And I am so thankful for all the new memories we have made this year so far...

and can not wait to make a billion more.
I ♥ you Mommy.

Our Little Trip to TN, part 4

We did a couple of 4 year old and pregnant lady friendly hikes :)
like Laurel Falls

Then up to Clingman's Dome... that one was a little tougher but we all made it

Notice how everyone started out with jackets and shed them by the time we made it to the top.

I think I am still a mountain girl at heart... maybe one day I can move back.

I ♥ the mountains

Our Little Trip to TN, part 3

We had a few visitors... Papaw
and Lori
and Tanner
and here's a group photo.

Thank you Lori for taking such a great picture of us all.

Our Little Trip to TN, continued

We left LA late Friday afternoon, stopped in Bama to spend the night and more importantly pick up the mommas! About 13 hours in the car and my super sweet kid is still smiling- what a trooper :)

So is driving all that way worth it, you ask? You tell me. This was our final destination, a gorgeous cabin called Above the Clouds on the side of Cove Mountain. Beautiful inside and out with spectacular views.

Sunset the first evening we were there.

And the view of the GSMNP from one of the decks at the cabin- spectacular!

While the cabin is most accurately called Above the Clouds, we were at times surrounded by clouds. Love this place, I will go back. Stay tuned for more pics from hiking and family visits soon...

Our Little Trip to TN

While we were there, we stopped by the little chapel we were married in almost 9 years ago!!!

Happy Birthday to Mister

Happy Birthday to the Best Husband Ever! And thank you so much for voluntarily living with me... you truly are an amazingly patient and loving man!

Not to mention the best dad in the entire world.

Sorry this is a day late, hope you had a great day and hope you have a great weekend doing what you ♥ most... watching Bama football and hiking in the mountains. Oh, and spending quality time with your lovely family.

Back to the Beach, Part 3...

In anticipation of our upcoming trip to the mountains, I am trying to share my favorite beach pics, there are SO many!!!
JR was very happy to see his friends at the beach- finally someone besides mom and dad to play with.
